Motion (along with the electricity behind it) occurs in, and is dependent upon time: the time it takes a stripe of video to move across a monitor, the time inherent in an isolated gaze, the time it takes to draw a heart in the sand, and then to observe this recorded action later, or the time that acts as gel between the imperceptible flickers of each consecutive video image.
