"Lisa, Jennifer, Bani is a series which investigates anxiety and the presentation of self among women video artists. A single interview with each artist is edited into two channels that play simultaneously on adjacent monitors. The original footage is dissected so that all of the essential content of the artists' speaking plays on the right-hand monitor while everything else plays on the left. The resulting piece reveals two distinct psychological spaces within one conversation. One side portrays a sense of confidence with its rapid-fire, decisive sentences. The opposing side conveys a sense of nervousness and self-doubt with its laughter, false starts, pauses, and verbal stumblings."

"Projecting explores the ways in which we orient self and others through everyday social interactions. The video is of a man's head, whose eyes engage the viewer, yet he never speaks. Shortly after the video begins, a small video image of a woman's mouth is projected on top of his. She tells the viewer that one of her favorite things about this man is that he is gentle, sweet, kind, and his voice is rather effeminate. The man's facial expressions reveal the fact that this embarrasses him. In speaking for him, she gives him a woman's voice, and simultaneously renders him unable to speak. As a result, the speaker discloses much about herself in the act of speaking about another, suggesting that our notions of self are in part defined discursively."
