Chicago-based sculptor Gary Justis examines and explores familiar and common objects. By expanding their meaning, Justis transforms these utilitarian icons into technological metaphors. Whereas Justis's complex and highly formal sculptures may initially be enticing for their sometimes contradictory surfaces, they possess a mystical quality that is calming and seductive.
